Privacy Policy

Last updated: 4 August 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Ledgerstack Technologies ("Caledger", "we", "us") handles information in connection with the Caledger GST and Caledger IT desktop applications and this website. We are based in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India.

1. Our core principle: your data stays with you

Caledger GST and Caledger IT are desktop applications that run on your firm's own computers and local network. Your clients' financial data, GST portal credentials, Tally data and reports are stored and processed on your hardware. We do not host, receive, or have access to that data.

2. Information we do handle

  • Licence & activation data. To activate the software, the app sends us your firm email, activation code and a machine fingerprint over an encrypted connection. We store the code (as a one-way hash), firm name, email, seat count and activation status to manage your licence.
  • Enquiry data. If you contact us or request a licence through our form, we receive the details you provide (name, firm, email, phone, message).
  • Website data. Standard server logs (IP, browser, pages visited) may be recorded by our hosting provider to keep the site secure and running.

3. How we use it

We use licence and enquiry data only to issue and manage your licence, provide support, send service or renewal notices, and improve the product. We do not sell your data.

4. Data stored on your systems

Any personal or financial information the software processes about your clients is controlled by your firm and stored on your systems. Your firm is the data fiduciary for that information under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. Caledger provides encryption at rest (AES-256) for sensitive fields such as portal credentials.

5. Sharing

We share licence/enquiry data only with service providers who help us operate (for example, email or hosting), under confidentiality obligations, and where required by law.

6. Retention

We keep licence records for as long as your licence is active and as needed for legal and accounting purposes, then delete or anonymise them.

7. Your rights

You may ask us to access, correct, or delete the licence/enquiry data we hold about you by writing to ledgerstacktech@gmail.com.

8. Changes

We may update this policy; the "last updated" date above will change. Continued use of the software or site means you accept the current version.
